Snow Canyon Loses to Woods Cross in Shootout

The Warriors season came to an abrupt and emotional end today as they lost after 2 overtime periods and a shootout. Manuel Muniz had the lone goal for the warriors. At the time it gave the warriors a 1 to 0 lead with just fifteen minutes left in the game. Three minutes later Woods Cross scored on a quick kick off a free kick to tie up the game. After 2 10 minute overtime periods the score remained tied and it went to a shootout. Jake Cannon's second block was disallowed on a questionable call by the official and given a second chance Woods Cross put it in. It was a great season for the Warriors and it was a shame it had to end on such a call.

Snow Canyon 2 Orem 1

In their first state game Snow Canyon beats Orem 2 to 1 to advance to the quarter finals of the state 4A soccer tournament. Ryan Stewart was the first to put the ball in the back of the net finishing on the tail end of a superbly executed free kick in which the ball was kicked to Barry who touched it through to Jaron Trotter. Jaron took a hard shot whick the keeper blocked out. Barry gathered the block up and brought back in and touched it to Ryan who put it in.The second goal was scored when Barry Kreyling blew past his defender after a long high pass. He settled the pass in the box and was one on one with the keeper when his defender shoved him down from behind. A PK was given which Barry took. He drilled it past the keeper before the keeper had time to react. As always the defense (Jarrett Groskruets, Kayden Gugelman, Cam Sherman and Mckay Wright) played well and Jake Cannon was in the goal for the win. The Warriors will face Woods Cross Friday at 4:00PM at Snow Canyon.
